For those not escaping to sunnier, warmer spots for March Break, there’s plenty of action in Mississauga to keep the days filled next week.

City of Mississauga officials say they’re offering a variety of programs and activities from March 13-19.

The goal, they add, is “to keep the fun going all week long. Get the kids outdoors and keep them busy while school is out.”

Here’s a sampling of things to do next week across Mississauga:

  • Celebration Square is hosting “Snow Days at the Square” and invites people to make the most of winter with various activities at the popular meeting spot. Ice skating, cozy lounge areas, other fun activities and more are all on tap, weather permitting, until March 20
  • Mississauga Library programs: watch one of the library’s live virtual performances or pick up a take-and-make activity kit and follow along from home
  • Day camps: ready for lots of indoor and outdoor daily fun? Register for a camp. The City’s lineup of camps includes Fun & Jr. Fun Camps, Dance, Art, Outdoor Explorers and more
  • Maple Magic: visit Mississauga’s annual Maple Syrup Festival, taking  place March 12-13 and March 19-20 at the Bradley Museum. Enjoy a variety of maple-themed activities for all ages, including the history and creation of maple syrup
  • Hometown sports: residents have four chances to cheer on the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads live at Paramount Fine Foods Centre over March Break, with games on March 11, 15, 18 and 20. Also at that venue, the Raptors 905 basketball squad is in action on March 17 at noon
  • Explore local gems: turn your March Break adventures into cash with the Mississauga Local Gems Pass. The more spots you visit and gems you collect, the greater the prizes you could win
