Mississauga resident faces fraud charges after bank employees recognize her

A Mississauga woman faces charges in connection with an attempted fraud in Dunnville.
OPP said in a press release that a woman went into a bank in the small town located about 35 kilometres west of Port Colborne on March 30.
Bank employees recognized the woman from an internal memo and contacted police to report a fraud in progress, police said.
Michelle Furtner, 34, of Mississauga, faces the following charges:
- Fraud over $5,000, and
- Use, deals, acts on forged document (four counts).
She’s scheduled to appear in Ontario Court at a later date.
Police are continuing to investigate and say they anticipate further charges.
