If you’re looking for more drama in your life, the City of Mississauga might just have a solution.

In releasing its lineup of Recreation and Culture fall programs available to residents and others starting in late September, the City says it’s introducing several new options for people to consider.

New to the Mississauga lineup this year are three adult drama programs:

  • Intro to Acting–discover the joy of acting and develop your imagination, listening and observation skills
  • Improv–learn the elements of storytelling, team building, listening and how to think on the spot. “This program is a great way to develop interpersonal and communication skills,” City officials say
  • Drama Skills for the Real World–become a stronger and more confident communicator by learning how to read the situation, think quickly on your feet and engage your audience to tell your story

Meanwhile, the City is also offering a new children’s program starting this fall.

Outdoor Explorers is for kids ages three to four (with a parent), five to six, and seven to nine years old.

Games, activities and crafts, nature hikes, tree and plant exploration, bird and insect observation, and more are all part of the program.

Returning in the fall are numerous programs that have proven popular with people over the years, the City says.

There’s a wide range of activities, classes and programs residents can take part in that will “keep your mind and body active this fall,” officials say.

“The City offers a variety of programs for all ages, abilities and interests,” Mississauga officials said in a news release. “There are hundreds of programs to choose from including recreational and cultural activities like swimming and skating lessons, fitness, aquatic exercise, creative art, dance and library programs like story times, book clubs and robotics classes. Whatever your interests are, the City has something for everyone.”

The Recreation and Culture fall programs start the week of Sept. 24. They’ll take place at various community facilities and locations across the city like parks, community centres, pools, arenas and arts and cultural centres.

Starting Sept. 7 at 6 a.m., residents can visit ActiveMississauga.ca to check out programs and activities that interest them.

Following that date, residents can begin to register online for programs starting Sept. 12 at 6 a.m.

Online registration for non-residents starts Sept. 14 at 6 a.m.

In-person registration is also available during service desk hours at facilities across the city.

For Mississauga Library programs, online registration for September/October program enrolment begins Sept. 7 at 6 a.m. while sign-ups for November/December enrolment begin Sept. 12 at 6 a.m.

In-person registration is also available at library locations.
