A Mississauga mom says she will use her $1 million lottery win to go back to school.

Nadya Khalil won the prize because she got all seven Encore numbers right in the Jan. 1 Lotto/649 draw.

“I always add Encore,” Khalil said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto recently to pick up her winnings. “I made sure to pick up my ticket before going out of town, so I didn’t miss the draw. This is my first big win!”

A regular player of Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max, Khalil said she first checked her ticket at a store. When she couldn’t believe that she had won, she went home and checked the ticket again using the OLG app.

Khalil says she plans to pay some bills and invest for her future with the winnings. She also plans to pursue higher education in technology.

The winning ticket was purchased at Danton Convenience, on Danton Promenade in Mississauga.
