Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie has officially thrown her hat into the ring for the 2023 Ontario Liberal leadership race.

According to the Elections Ontario website, Crombie registered as a candidate on Tuesday, signalling her intention to bring change and address the concerns of Ontarians.

In a statement released earlier this week, Crombie expressed her commitment to the people of Ontario and her belief in the government’s role in resolving critical issues such as healthcare, education, and affordability.

She criticized the current Ford government, accusing them of exacerbating challenges through cutbacks and underfunding of essential public services.

As the race for the Ontario Liberal leadership intensifies, Crombie’s entry adds another dynamic candidate to the mix.

Crombie is expected to make an official announcement tomorrow (June 14) afternoon in Mississauga.
