The Naylor brothers entered some rarified air in the big leagues tonight (July 14).

Mississauga’s Josh and Bo Naylor, both players with the Cleveland Guardians, each belted home runs in the third inning at Globe Life Field, the first brother combination to do so since 2014 and only the eighth time it has been done in Major League Baseball history by teammates.

Bo, 23, started things off when he took Texas Ranger pitcher Jon Gray deep with a two-run shot to open the scoring. A few batters later his big brother Josh, 26, also smacked a two-run blast off Gray to give the Guardians the lead. Naylors 4 — Texas 0.

The products of St. Joan of Arc Secondary School in Mississauga, the Naylors have found a home in Cleveland, combining to give the offence a jolt this season.

A third brother, Myles, 18, was drafted by the Oakland Athletics last week.
