A Mississauga man has won $25,000 for life…and that was the second prize in a recent draw of the Daily Grand Lottery.

Wayne Creary, 56, says he never misses a draw and he’s glad he has taken that approach even though he couldn’t believe his eyes when he won the prize.

“I was laying in bed when my wife and got up to check our tickets using the OLG App,” Creary said. “At first, we thought the win was $25,000 then we realized it was $25,000 a year for life. I am happy and shocked! ”

The 56-year-old renovation and construction worker says he called his children to share the good news. “They were more excited than I was,” he laughed.

Wayne plans to save and invest his money for retirement and purchase a vacation home. “I will start looking at condos in the tropics,” he smiled. “I am so happy I can make my retirement dreams a reality.”

Daily Grand is a national lottery game with a top prize of $1,000 a day for life for matching the five main numbers plus the “Grand Number”. The second prize is $25,000 a year for life for matching the five main numbers. Daily Grand is $3 per play and draws take place on Mondays and Thursdays.

Creary purchased his ticket for the March 31 draw at the Shell gas station on Unity Dr. in Mississauga.
