A Mississauga man is on a winning streak with a third lottery win in seven years.
Jaoquim Carrusca of Mississauga won $125,000 in the Aug. 1 Daily Keno 8 Pick evening draw, Ontario Lottery and Gaming said in a press release.
Carrusca, a father and grandfather, has been playing the lottery with OLG for as long as he can remember. In the last few years, he has been lucky with his favourite game.
He won $100,000 in both 2017 and 2018 with Daily Keno.
This latest win came as a surprise.
“I was at the store when I scanned my ticket using the OLG app on my phone. I thought I had won $1250,” Carrusca told OLG. “Then, I realized there were many zeros and became overwhelmed. I asked my son to double-check the numbers. He looked at my phone and said, ‘OMG! Again?’ We shared a good laugh. I just can’t believe I won again!”
His family had the same reaction.
“They all said, ‘Oh my goodness! Again?’ Everyone was left in disbelief,” Carrusca said.
The win is no less thrilling the third time around.
“This win has been wonderful and spectacular! It’s a beautiful and crazy feeling, filled with chills and goosebumps. It’s such a great thrill,” he said.
With his most recent windfall, Carrusca plans to travel.
The winning ticket was purchased at Starbank on College Street in Toronto.
