Remeshwar Ramsumeer of Mississauga won $225,000 with the Big Spin Instant game

A Mississauga man is shocked and excited after winning $225,000 with The Big Spin Instant game (Game #3107).

OLG said that Remeshwar Ramsumeer, a machine operator, has been a regular lottery player for over 20 years.

Ramsumeer told OLG that he likes to try new games and finds himself drawn to colourful tickets. He said that when saw ads for The Big Spin, he dreamed of getting the chance to spin wheel himself.

He told OLG he was scratching his ticket and having a coffee when he won an in-store spin. After work the next day, he went to the store to check his ticket.

“I was excited to win something and was hoping for $50,” he said.

Ramsumeer said he didn’t realize his spin landed on BIG SPIN because he was talking with a store clerk at the time.

“The clerk and I were both shocked. I’m still shocked right now,” he told OLG, adding that his win began to feel real when he spoke with OLG on the phone.

“I was so grateful in that moment.”

It soon came time for Ramsumeer to take his spin at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“When I saw the wheel hit $225,000, I was speechless and had goosebumps! Now I know what the winners feel like.”

Ramsumeer plans to use his winnings to take his daughter on a vacation and save for her college education. He also hopes to pay off his condo and have a fresh start.

“I’ve had a rough life, and now I have this boost,” he said.

“I just want to enjoy it. It’s just starting to sink in.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Central Parkway in Mississauga.
