For Mississauga’s Gopalanathan Sathasivam, winning $100,000 in a recent Lotto Max Encore draw is a real family affair.

Actually, make that total $100,020 as the 59-year-old retired worker also won $20 on a Lotto Max ticket.

Sathasivam said the best part about the win, which came in the Oct. 12 Lotto Max draw, was sharing the good news with his family.

“It was an unforgettable day. When I showed my wife, she was so happy; then we told the kids together,” said Sathasivam while collecting his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Sathasivam, who matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order, says he plans to pay some bills and save for his children’s education with the winnings.

“We’ll also take a family vacation when it’s safe to travel again,” he added.

Sathasivam bought the winning ticket at the CNIB Kiosk in Wal-mart, on Matheson Blvd. in Mississauga.
