Police say a young man from Mississauga was killed in a crash near Halton Hills on Sunday night.

Around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, Halton Regional Police officers along with members from the Mississauga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were responded to a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 7 between Fourth and Fifth line in Acton.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt with the OPP said investigators believe that the driver of the vehicle somehow lost control and was broadsided by an oncoming SUV.

Driver, a 23-year-old man from Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was significant damage to both vehicles, and Schmidt said two occupants of the SUV were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Schmidt said it “was snowy, slushy wet and slippery at the time of the crash.”
