A Mississauga man has been charged and police seized TVs, perfume and designer clothes after two transport trucks were stolen earlier this year.

Back in February, police say two tractor trailers reportedly filled with televisions were stolen from a trucking yard in Caledon.

Police say investigators discovered that at least one of the stolen TVs was being sold at a store in Mississauga, and in April police received authorization to search the store.

Four 55-inch TVs, thousands of dollars worth of men’s and women’s fragrances and thousands of dollars of Burberry wallets and clothing were seized in the search and a Mississauga man is now facing two charges in relation to the truck theft.

Ali Shirzad, 31, of Mississauga has been charged with:

  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Trafficking in property obtained by crime

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on June 24.

Anyone with additional information on the thefts are asked to contact the Caledon OPP at (905)-284-2241 or 1-888-310-1122.
