Mississauga man charged with attempted murder after Toronto knife attack

A Mississauga man has been charged with numerous crimes following a knife attack in Toronto last month.

Police in Toronto say the incident occurred in the evening of March 7 when the male victim was approached by another man in the area of Dufferin St. and Lawrence Ave. W.

The culprit started yelling at the victim and then pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

The victim was treated in the hospital for serious injuries.

This past weekend police arrested Robert Vernon, 29, of Mississauga.

Vernon is charged with attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon, weapons dangerous, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
