A two-year-old murder investigation in British Columbia has led to Mississauga where a local man has been arrested.

Police in Victoria say investigators responded to a housing complex in March of 2020 with reports that a man had been assaulted with a weapon.

They found the victim unconscious and he was taken to the hospital where he died several days later.

Following new leads, police investigators made an arrest in Mississauga earlier this week.

George Thurcott, 56, is now charged with second degree murder.

He was taken back to Victoria and appeared in court April 11. He is in custody pending further court appearances.
