A Mississauga man has been arrested following a road rage incident this morning in Burlington.

Around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, a resident reported to police that a male driver was following him, driving erratically, and waving what appeared to be a handgun.

“The citizen reported that the other driver lowered his passenger side window and pointed the handgun in his direction and waved it about in an attempt to intimidate him,” police say.

A short time later, police stopped the suspect on Appleby Line at Harrison Court and arrested him. They also located a replica handgun.

“This item fires blank cartridges and is not illegal to possess, but the male driver was using it in a flagrant manner as a weapon dangerous to the public peace which is a criminal offence.”

41 year old Mississauga man Pawel Starosciak has been charged with Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace.

Police say the incident occurred because Starosciak felt that the other driver had changed lanes and cut him off.

His court date is scheduled for January 8, 2020.
