Mississauga man and teen from Markham charged with cocaine trafficking

A Mississauga man and a teenager from Markham are facing charges for alleged cocaine trafficking and possession of magic mushrooms following an incident south of Hamilton on the weekend.

Around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 22), 2022, the Norfolk County OPP say they received a call about a suspicious vehicle at an address on Davis St. East in Simcoe, approximately 83 kilometres southwest of Hamilton.

Police say a Good Samaritan saw the suspicious vehicle and altered police who say two occupants were taken into custody.

An 18-year-old and a 21-year-old were charged with a combined seven charges, including possession of psilocybin mushrooms and tracking offences.

Jeremiah Riley Raheem Campbell, 21, of Mississauga has been charged with

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession of psilocybin
  • Have care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

Kyrel Dawkins, 18 of Markham has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of psilocybin

The accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
