Manuela Tuazon Soropia says even though it wasn’t her father’s lucky lottery numbers that won a recent $100,000 Lotto Max Encore prize for her, she still looks at her good fortune as a “gift.”

The Mississauga mother of two’s Lotto Max ticket for the July 29 draw matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order.

Tuazon Soropia says this is her first major lottery win.

“I play the same numbers that my father used to play. And I always add Encore,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I checked my ticket using the OLG App and saw ‘Big Winner’ come up. I couldn’t believe it.”

While her father’s numbers didn’t win her the $100,000 prize, Tuazon Soropia says the win is still a big gift.

“It’s a wonderful feeling,” she said, adding she plans to pay some bills and help with her daughter’s education with the prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Shell gas station on Dundas St. in Mississauga.
