It wasn’t until Maria Di Iorio put on her glasses that she realized she had just won a whole lot more than $350.

The Mississauga woman collected the top prize of $350,000 on an Instant Crossword Extreme ticket she recently purchased.

The insurance industry worker, who describes herself as a regular lottery player for the last five years, said she initially thought she had won $350.

“I didn’t have my glasses on. When I realized it was $350,000, I was shocked,” Di Iorio said recently at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, where she picked up her winnings.

“Instant Crossword is my favourite game. Playing Crossword is my way to relax and have some fun.”

Di Iorio said her sisters were in shock when she shared the news with them.

“They were so happy and supportive of me,” she smiled.

Di Iorio plans to celebrate her win with her family and go on a vacation. “I can’t even describe how blessed I feel,” she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Variety Plus, on Hurontario St. in Mississauga.
