Shari Sahadeo was so excited at winning $129,756 in a recent Lotto Max draw that she went back to sleep after checking her numbers.

Actually, that’s not the entire story. While the Mississauga resident did go back to sleep, she hadn’t realized her ticket was a second-prize winner in the Sept. 2 draw.

It took her several days to realize her good fortune.

“When I got the email with the winning numbers, they looked familiar, but I ended up going back to sleep,” Sahadeo said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her big cheque. “I checked on the OLG App a few days later and saw ‘Big Winner’ appear. I was shocked.

“I don’t think reality has actually set in yet.”

Sahadeo, a regular lottery player, added she feels more numb than excited at the moment. She adds that she always plays Lotto Max and chooses her own numbers that are comprised of significant days in her life.

The Mississauga resident says she plans to pay bills, complete some home renovations and take a vacation with her winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at Becker’s, on Burnhamthorpe Rd. in Mississauga.
