A Mississauga company is helping to fight the spread of COVID-19 by shipping 38 million masks to countries around the world on behalf of all Canadians.

Traffic Tech will pack the masks at its Mississauga location, prepare them for shipping, and manage all the logistics associated with the donation.

The masks are being donated by PRIMED Medical Products, a leading manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE). The number of masks represents the population of Canada and is meant to show the world that Canadians care.

A charity, GlobalMedic will facilitate the distribution to healthcare workers around the world.

“While Canada and many nations are starting to win the battle against COVID, many countries worldwide are still in the middle of serious COVID-19 outbreaks and the availability of high quality PPE is necessary to provide essential protection” commented David Welsh, President & CEO of PRIMED Medical Products. “We are proud to work with our partners Traffic Tech and GlobalMedic to ensure that these masks reach those who will benefit most.”

Twenty million masks are destined for India to help in that country’s fight against the virus.

Masks will also be sent to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Syria and Yemen as well as the Caribbean and South America including the Bahamas, Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Guyana.
