Mississauga launches outdoor summer concert series

Summer has returned and an upcoming concert series in Mississauga celebrates the sounds of the season.

Like the Port Credit outdoor concert series, the Streetsville Village Square concert series is free and features a variety of music genres from hip hop to rock, jazz and Latin rhythms.

The concert series marks a return to in-person events.

The series starts on Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m. with the hip hop and R&B band, gee. The local band channels experiences of love, culture and identity.

The free concerts continue every Friday evening until Sept. 2.

Here is the full schedule:

July 8 – gee, hip hop and R&B band

July 15 – David Leask Duo, Celtic soul, folk/pop and roots rock

July 22 – J8KE, versatile vocals combined with multi-instrumental music and live looping

July 29 – Khay, a mix of jazz, soul, blues and rock

Aug. 5 – Matt Zaddy with Heather Christine, award-winning performers who blend folk-rock and R&B

Aug. 12 – One in the Chamber, dirty rock and roll

Aug. 19 – YASSiN and Sean Terrio, a multi-genre duo mixing old and new sounds

Aug. 26 -BlkBird, emotive indie/alternative rock sound

Sept. 2 – Carla & The Latintrain, Latin rhythms like Bolero, Salsa and Cumbia
