Mississauga launches outdoor exhibit to spark climate change conversation

A new outdoor exhibit being unveiled today (Sept. 16) in Mississauga’s downtown core will travel across the city in the next year in an effort to spark more conversation about climate change.
The City of Mississauga is launching the exhibit, We Are Resilient, this afternoon from 3 to 7 p.m. at Community Common Park on Princess Royal Dr.
City officials say the work features photography and stories from Mississauga residents and includes perspectives from international leaders on the impacts of the changing climate.
“It explores how everyone can respond and recover together as a community,” the City said in an email to insauga.com introducing the exhibit.
Today’s unveiling event will also feature a live, interactive drumming performance (from 5 to 6 p.m.) by travelling drummers Rhythm Works in addition to an electric vehicle test drive, giveaways and more.
Museums of Mississauga and Parks, Forestry and Environment staff at the City have teamed up to present We Are Resilient.

The installation will travel across Mississauga throughout the next year. It will remain at Community Common Park until Nov. 13 and then will be moved to the nearby Great Hall inside the Mississauga Civic Centre from Nov. 16 until next Jan. 6.
Further locations will be revealed as confirmed, the City says.
The exhibit is inspired by the City’s Climate Change Action Plan.
Admission to the unveiling is free.
