Mississauga firefighters begin their 2022 recruitment drive with two virtual open house sessions next week.

Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services is looking for its newest recruits to help protect people, property and the environment in Mississauga.

Being a firefighter means more than just fighting fires; in Mississauga crews also respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents and other technical rescues.

The benefits include joining a dynamic team, hands-on training, continuous learning and growth opportunities.

Anyone considering a career as a firefighter can learn more about the recruitment process and what the job entails. The city is hosting two virtual open house sessions to share information about the benefits of becoming a firefighter in Mississauga and the firefighter hiring process.

The open house will include testimonials from Mississauga firefighters, information on the job application and recruitment process, as well as an opportunity to ask questions.

The two sessions are:

  • Tuesday, July 12 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 13 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
