Mississauga house sells for $500,000 over asking, seller saves $66,100 in commission

Right now, the housing market is seeing a huge number of properties sell for way over asking in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Orangeville, Hamilton, Niagara, Guelph, Georgetown, Halton, Durham, Toronto, and York. For sellers using New Era Real Estate, that means a lot more money going back into their own pocket.

New Era is an Ontario brokerage operating throughout the province. Their main draw is that they charge a flat fee of $5,900 for their full service, rather than the 2.5% – 5% commission that most standard brokerages charge.

What does that mean in today’s housing market?

As housing prices continue to climb and many properties sell for hundreds of thousands over the asking price, percentage-based commission also climbs, forcing sellers to pay increasingly higher prices when working with standard brokerages.

However, because New Era always charges the same flat fee, their clients don’t have to worry about rising commissions and can instead put that money towards something more important: Their new dream home, or their children’s education, for example.

In a recent case, New Era Real Estate sold a home in Mississauga for $2.4 million – a whole half a million dollars over its listing price of $1,900,000.

The ravine lot property, boasting four bedrooms and four bathrooms, was sold in only a day. As if that wasn’t impressive enough already, the seller saved a total of $66,100 on the sale thanks to New Era’s flat fee.

It’s far from the only example of a house in the GTHA selling for way over its asking price – many Mississauga properties have sold for half a million over asking. But can you really celebrate your home selling quickly and for a record price when you have to hand over a significant chunk in commissions?

“This market is extremely hot and although it’s great for sellers to see home prices continue to climb, is it really fair being obligated to pay your agent even more in commissions when the workload remains the same?” says New Era founder John Martino.

“If anything, the job is easier than ever before as technology aids in streamlining the process on both sides. Especially when most homes are selling in mere days, how can these loft commissions be justified?”

In addition to the more affordable price, New Era doesn’t lock its sellers into lengthy contract commitments, and absolutely no payment is required until the property is successfully sold and the deal closes.

New Era’s full service includes the personal home owners portal, market analysis, professional photography of your property, a variety of selling strategies, home preparation, a robust marketing/advertising campaign, scheduled showings and buyer qualification, negotiation, and much more. All New Era listings go on MLS and all major real estate websites and social media platforms.

All of New Era’s agents and brokers are fully licensed with years of experience, and sellers are matched with agents that specialize in their area.

Sellers also get access to a personalized web portal that provides everything they need to know about the sale of their home: Property photos and details as it would appear on realtor.ca, paperwork signed and broken down into layman’s terms, showing feedback, showing scheduling, messaging and more, keeping sellers fully informed in real time while still having 24/7 access to their agent.

The reviews and testimonials speak for themselves, with numerous five-star Google reviews from sellers who appreciated the affordability, simplicity and convenience that New Era brought to the selling process.
