A traffic stop by the OPP on Highway 401 through Mississauga has turned up a gun and has led to several charges against the driver.
The OPP says Highway Safety Division officers recently stopped a car for speeding along the 401 and when they spoke to the driver they noticed an amount of cannabis in plain view.
A further search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded weapon.
The weapon was identified as a 9mm handgun.
As a result, a Toronto man is now facing charges for the weapon, drugs and for speeding.
His name has not been released by police as their investigation continues.
