One person is in critical condition in hospital and another in stable condition after a highrise fire near Square One in Mississauga early this morning.
Peel Regional Police say the blaze broke out just before 6:30 a.m. inside a sixth-floor unit of a condo building on Webb Dr.
A man and woman were rushed to hospital in stable condition, but the man’s condition has since been downgraded to critical, according to police.
Another woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The fire was quickly put out by Mississauga firefighters.
Residents on the sixth floor and several other floors were evacuated while fire crews tended to the blaze. They’ve since been allowed back into their apartments.
Officials don’t yet know what started the fire, but they say it’s not considered to be suspicious at this time.
