Update: Mississauga high school in lockdown after male seen with a knife: police

Attempted robbery ends with conspiracy charge for 2 men from Caledon and Oshawa

A Mississauga school was in lockdown and one person is in custody after a male with a knife was reportedly seen inside the school.

Peel Regional Police say officers were called to Lorne Park Secondary School in Mississauga just after 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday after someone called police about a male suspect seen inside the school with a knife.

The school was placed on lockdown and police say one male suspect has been taken into custody. Police didn’t say how old the suspect is but in a later tweet, they referred to him as a youth.

No injuries were reported, and police have not released any additional details about the incident or the male suspect.

UPDATE: At 2:23 p.m. police said the lockdown was lifted but the school remains in hold and secure as investigation continues.

No one allowed in or out of the school.

SECOND UPDATE: At 3:15 p.m. the hold and secure was lifted. A male youth is in custody. Police located and seized a knife.
