Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for this Thursday and Friday. A heat episode is expected to affect most of southern Ontario, including Mississauga.

Daytime temperatures will reach low thirties with afternoon humidex values in the mid to upper thirties, according to EC. Overnight lows will be near 20 degrees.

The heat episode is expected to end Friday night with the passage of a cold front.

Environment Canada is advising citizens to stay cool and hydrated during the next few days. Avoid leaving children or pets inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight, and prepare meals that don’t need to be cooked in an oven.
