Esperanza Mallari got a lot more satisfaction than she had hoped for when she recently stopped at a store to get a bite to eat.

The Mississauga grandmother quickly forgot about the food when a check at the store of her Lotto 6/49 Encore ticket from the Jan. 4 draw showed that she was a $100,000 winner.

Her ticket’s numbers matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order.

Mallari, a regular lottery player for decades, said she was so excited after learning her ticket was a big winner that she didn’t know whether to cry or shout.

“I stopped at the store to get something to eat and checked my ticket at the same time. When the clerk said I won big, I was so surprised,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

“I want to use this money to prepare for the future, pay some bills and share with my children. My children are encouraging me to celebrate with a relaxing trip.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Erin Mills Town Centre Lottery Centre, on Erin Mills Pkwy. in Mississauga.
