Mississauga Facing Extreme Cold Weather, Freezing Rain Expected

It looks like the cold and icy conditions are here to stay, at least for a little while longer.
The city has issued an extreme cold weather warning, stating that temperatures in Mississauga are set to drop below -15 tonight with the wind chill.
Additionally, a special weather statement is in effect due to freezing rain expected on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
According to Environment Canada, the precipitation will “begin as snow Wednesday evening for most parts of the Golden Horseshoe and Central Ontario, but will quickly change over to freezing rain and then to rain overnight.”
The rain is associated with a low pressure system from Texas that will track towards the Great Lakes on Wednesday.
Commuters should exercise caution, as untreated roads and walkways may become slippery and dangerous.
Further weather warnings may be issued later into the week.
