Mississauga couple planning beach vacation after big lotto win

A Mississauga couple is planning to put some unexpected lotto winnings towards a beach vacation.
OLG recently announced that Giulia and Christos Balopoulos matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the October 19, 2022, Lotto 6/49 draw to win $100,000.
The winners, both retired, said they have been playing the lottery since they got married 43 years ago.
They told OLG their favourite games are Lotto 6/49 and Instant tickets, and they “always say yes to Encore.”
The couple told OLG said they were visiting their son and daughter-in-law when they discovered their big win.
“Our son checked our tickets for us and when he saw the Big Winner screen appear, he froze and called us over. I thought it was a $100 win until I saw the rest of the zeroes. I didn’t believe it!” Giulia told OLG.

“I was overwhelmed with emotion and started to cry.”
She said the best part was discovering the win with her family.
“It made the experience so special. It’s amazing – we are so happy.”
The winning ticket was purchased at The Real Canadian Super Store on Mavis Road in Mississauga.
