The stories of more victims are emerging following the shooting death of a police officer at a Mississauga coffee shop on Monday (Sept. 12).

New information shows that after killing Constable Andrew Hong, the suspect ran from the Tim Hortons coffee shop on Argentia Rd. in Meadowvale and shot another person in the parking lot.

According to Peel Regional Police, the suspect, who has been identified as Sean Petrie, shot the second person during a carjacking and used that vehicle to make his escape.

That second victim is listed in stable condition in hospital but the injuries are considered life-altering, according to police information.

“After the murder of Constable Hong the suspect immediately fled the coffee shop across the road to an adjacent parking lot, shot and carjacked another victim, and stole the vehicle,” said Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah.

Using the stolen vehicle, police say Petrie then drove to Milton where he shot and killed auto shop owner Shakeel Ashraf and wounded two others.
