Mississauga child in potentially life-threatening condition after fall from balcony

A child is in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after they fell from a Mississauga balcony.

Police and paramedics are on scene at Erin Mills Parkway and Fowler Dr, a hybrid area of local businesses and tall apartment buildings as of this writing around 7 p.m.

Peel Police announced the child’s fall about  an hour earlier after receiving the 911 call at 5:15.

The child had fallen from the balcony of one of the apartment buildings, though police did not specify how far they had fallen.

They have also released no detail about the child themselves neither their age or gender is yet known. What is known is the child was rushed to hospital to treat potentially life threatening injuries.

Police will be on scene around 7:15 p.m. with more details. Insauga will share more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE 1 : Police have confirmed the child was a two-year old boy. They are still awaiting more information about his condition.

LATEST UPDATE: The injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
