There will be a shimmer of summer vibes, and then some, in Mississauga and Brampton tomorrow.

The Weather Network forecasts for the adjacent cities says the daytime highs will reach around 25 C on Saturday (Oct. 2). Relatively high humidity will mean that it will feel like 29 to 30 C during the warmest portions of the day, which is exceptionally warm for the first Saturday of October.

The warm weather will arrive on the 50-year anniversary of the hottest Oct. 2 ever experienced in both cities. On Oct. 2, 1971, the recorded high was 28.3 C in both Mississauga and Brampton.

As so often happens, the warm weather is a portent of precipitation.

There is a 60 per cent chance of showers on Saturday night heading into Sunday. Rain is also in the forecast for the early part of the week, with daytime highs in the 20 to 21 C range.

However, the longer-range forecasts suggests October will trend toward warmer-than-usual weather, and a lower frequency of rainy days.
