Mississauga and Brampton residents will have their chance to offer input when Peel Region holds two upcoming online public meetings to look at amendments to the Regional Official Plan.

The region will be looking at the present official plan for two reasons. One, to update it looking at regional development that reflects the changing community’s needs for the next 30 years until 2051.

And secondly, to make sure it conforms with all present Provincial plan and policy changes –  keeping in mind those all change as governments turn over

At that point, residents will get their opportunity to state what they’d prefer happening with the region’s land use, be it residential, commercial, industrial or agricultural.

All regions in Ontario must update their Official Plans every five years.

The two Open Houses to provide members of the public an opportunity to learn about the proposed ROPA, ask staff questions, and provide comments:

  • Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Because there are limited spaces, residents are suggested to register as soon as possible at: peelregion.ca/officialplan/review
