All Peel Regional Police division offices in Mississauga and Brampton have been closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In a post to Twitter on Tuesday, police said all divisions have been closed until further notice for all non-emergency services.

Collision reporting centres will remain open, but police said there will be enhanced screening protocols and capacity limits in place.

Residents in an emergency situation can still call 9-1-1, and police are available for non-emergency matters by calling (905)-453-3311.

Certain reports may also be filed online by visiting PeelPolice.ca/ReportIt.

Peel Public Health (PPH) said there were 454 new cases of COVID-19 in the Region of Peel on Wednesday.

Of those new cases, 246 were reported in Mississauga, 168 were in Brampton, and another 40 cases were in Caledon and other areas.

The overwhelming demand for COVID-19 vaccine third dose booster shots led to a shortage of vaccination appointments in Peel, with PPH saying slots for people 18 and older are booked until February.
