January to April DOB in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Hamilton can download vaccination app today

Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Hamilton residents can download their enhanced proof of COVID-19 vaccination QR codes starting Monday.
The provincial government is making the digital vaccine certificates available over the next three days, with some Ontarians already eligible to download their enhanced certificates.
Those born January to April can already download their QR codes. Those born May to August will have access to their digital receipts on Oct. 16, and individuals born between September and December can download their certificates on Oct. 17.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford made the announcement earlier today, saying all Ontario residents will have digital access to their vaccination certificates as of 6 a.m. on Monday.
The digital certificates are available for download on the province’s proof of vaccination portal. Individuals can also call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900 to have their enhanced vaccine certificate emailed or mailed to them directly.
The province said the staggered roll-out of certificates will give businesses and citizens time to download the QR codes and apps.

Paper certificates will still be valid and businesses must accept both electronic and paper receipts, but Christine Elliott, deputy premier and minister of health, urged Ontarians to download their digital vaccine certificates and QR code.
Verify Ontario, the province’s vaccine verification app for businesses, is already available on Google and Apple app stores, and the enhanced vaccine certificate can be downloaded and saved on mobile devices.
Associate Minister of Digital Government Kaleed Rasheed said the app never stores personal info, and only saves the “minimal amount” of info necessary to show proof of vaccination.
Under Ontario’s vaccine certificate program, only those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or have a valid medical exemption from a doctor, can access certain settings, such as theatres, nightclubs and restaurant dining rooms.
Individuals will still need to wait at least 14 days after getting their final dose to access these businesses with proof of vaccination.

- January to April: October 15
- May to August: October 16
- September to December: October 17
