POLL: Mississauga and Brampton residents say 2022 will be a better than 2021

With 2021 now in the rear-view mirror, a majority of Mississauga and Brampton residents are optimistic that 2022 will be a better year.

According to a recent poll conducted by insauga.com via Instagram, 72 per cent of respondents from Mississauga and Brampton think things will be looking up in 2022.

The last year may have had its ups and downs – including the rapid spread of the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 putting a damper on New Year’s Eve celebrations in much of the province.

But insauga.com readers are holding out hope that the worst is behind us and that 2022 will be better than 2021.

More than a quarter of respondents were cautious with their predictions of how the new year would go, with 28 per cent saying 2022 would be on the downward slide.

While a winter weather advisory might bring a wet blanket of snow to much of Mississauga, Brampton and southern Ontario for the start of 2022, for at least one Mississauga family the new year is shaping up to be a bundle of joy.

Mississauga welcomed the first baby of 2022 at 12:09 a.m. on New Year’s Day, with the baby boy and family happy and health at Credit Valley Hospital’s birthing suite.
