A Mississauga man’s dream of starting his own business just got a bit easier with a $1 million lottery win.

Jozsef Berki of Mississauga won $1 million, the top prize with Instant Jackpot Multiplier, according to a press release from OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation) today (March 14).

Berki, a 34-year-old father, was shocked to learn he won $1 million.

“I shouted ‘$1 million!’ and then cried happy tears. My partner was with me, and she was so excited too,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

It was his first lottery win.

“It’s a huge emotional feeling,” said Berki, who works in construction. “I’m feeling many emotions, some of which I don’t understand because I’ve never experienced anything like this before.”

Berki has several plans for the winnings. He would like to start his own business and will look into purchasing a house. He would also like to travel and buy a new car.

The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Southdown Road in Mississauga.
