Mississauga's Kim Lauw said his family didn't believe he won a $1 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

When Mississauga’s Kim Lauw told his wife and grown kids he’d won $1 million in the Aug. 14 Lotto 6/49 draw, they didn’t believe him.

In fact, his wife thought he’d pocketed a significantly smaller amount with the win.

“My wife thought I only won $100,” laughed Lauw, a grandfather and retired worker who always buys his tickets online at OLG.ca because, he says, it’s convenient and he’ll never lose his ticket.

Lauw’s Guaranteed $1 Million Prize win came as a huge surprise to him as well.

“When I got a message to fill out a form, I knew I won something big. I just kept saying ‘Wow’. I couldn’t believe it,” he said.

Lauw plans to share the money with his family and invest.

“I always dreamed I would win big one day,” he added, smiling.
