Police are seeking the public’s help in finding an older woman with  Alzheimer’s who went missing in Mississauga’s south end on Wednesday night.

Claudia, 75, was last seen at around 7 p.m. on June 24 in the area of Lakeshore Road West and Mississauga Road, Peel Regional Police said in a news release on Thursday morning.

“Due to her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, police and family are concerned for Claudia’s well-being,” police said, adding the missing woman is considered to be “vulnerable.”

Claudia is described as Black, standing approximately 5-foot-5 with a heavy build. She has white hair and may appear hunched, often standing or walking with a forward slouch, police noted.

Anyone with information on Claudia’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 905-453–2121, ext. 1133, or Peel Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

Peel police and several other Greater Toronto Area police forces, including in Toronto, adopted a policy in 2023 in which they make public only the given names of people who’ve gone missing.

When deemed necessary by investigators, they will release surnames of missing persons as well, police noted.
