Missing Toronto teen last seen in Hamilton

UPDATE: Police said on June 8 that the missing child had been located and thanked members of the public for their assistance.

Police are asking the public for leads following the disappearance of a Toronto teen in Hamilton nearly a week ago.

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) says 17-year-old Derick was last seen in the Hamilton area on Thursday (June 1). Police say the teen lives in the area of Finch Ave. East and Willowdale Ave. area and police are concerned for his safety.

Derick is described as standing approximately 5’6″ and weighing 120 lbs. with a slim build, black hair, and brown eyes. Police say Derick was last seen wearing a black shirt with purple and white lettering, and black pants.

Many police agencies have stopped listing the gender and last names of missing persons.
