A 12-year-old Mississauga boy missing since Thursday night has been located by a member of the public, Peel Regional Police reported Friday night.

“Fantastic news,” Peel police said on a post to X (formerly Twitter). “Ethan is in good health and spirits and officers are returning him home. Thank you to all who shared and kept an eye out. We can’t do it without you.”

Police had set up a command post on Friday morning outside the residence of the family of the missing boy, Ethan, and were concerned for his safety.

They said at the time that the child, who is autistic, was familiar with using transit and may have been trying to travel to Toronto.
