Missing man could be hitchhiking in Ontario, police say

Police are asking the public to help locate a man last seen over a week ago who could be hitchhiking across Ontario.

The Halton Regional Police Service says Travers Jones, 37, was last seen on July 4 in the area of Queens Avenue in Oakville.

He was last seen on foot but could be hitchhiking or travelling by transit, and has ties to Nova Scotia and Kirkland, located approximately 140 kilometres southeast of Timmins.

Travers is described as a Black male standing around 5’9” with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, a black ball cap and black sneakers.

Anyone with information about Travers or his possible whereabouts is asked to contact Halton police by calling 911 or 905-825-4777. Anonymous tips may also be provided to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
