Missing Fort Erie man found dead, Niagara police launch murder investigation

The body of Desmond Teague was found yesterday. Niagara Regional Police are treating the case as a homicide.

A missing person case has turned into a homicide investigation for Niagara Regional Police after remains of a Fort Erie man were discovered yesterday (Oct. 5)

Desmond Teague, 74, was reported missing on Sept. 30 after he was last seen in the area of Forsythe and Archange Sts. At the time police said he disappeared under suspicious circumstances.

Yesterday, police confirmed that Teague’s body was found in the area of Idlewylde St. in Fort Erie and subsequently the case was turned over to homicide investigators.

“The Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit is appealing to anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Desmond Teague or suspicious activity in the area of Idlewylde St. to contact detectives at 905-688 – 4111, dial option 3, ext. 1009132,” police said in a released statement.
