Missing firearm in Acton located and retrieved by police

A missing unloaded rifle that recently went missing, has been located and retrieved by Halton police.

Yesterday afternoon (Nov. 1), the owner of a Remington 783 rifle self-reported the situation to the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS).

In a release, the HRPS stated that the rifle was left on the rear cover of a pickup truck and fell off of the vehicle between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. The owner travelled along Poplar Avenue to Maria Street, west on Church St. E and north on Main St. N to Wallace Street during that time.

The owner continued travelling from Wallace St. onto MacDonald Boulevard to Churchill Rd. N., and then to No. 32 sideroad.
