Minors from St. Catharines, Niagara Falls charged in hate vandalism at Harriet Tubman Public School

Two minors – one from St. Catharines, the other from Niagara Falls – were charged for the hate graffiti spray-painted on Harriet Tubman Public School in St. Catharines, as well as a number of nearby homes and cars in the George Street area back in June.
Back on June 12, Niagara Police were called to a home on George Street near Catherine Street in St. Catharines and found racist and homophobic words sprayed on the house siding using blue and orange paint.
Soon after, they started find a number of cars and buildings that had been targeted including the exterior of Harriet Tubman School at 84 Henry Street.
A statue of Harriet Tubman on the property was vandalized with paint. Police determined the vandalism at the school occurred at approximately 9:55 pm on June 11.
In the end, the police found two school buses, six cars, three homes, one business and the school had been vandalized.
On August 20, police arrested a 14-year-old male from St. Catharines, who was then charged with 13 counts of mischief under $5,000.

On August 21, they arrested a 15-year-old male from Niagara Falls, who was also charged with 13 counts of mischief under $5,000.
Both minors were released to their respective parents/guardians with future courts dates.
The Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada prohibits the police from releasing the identity of charged young persons.
