Minor allegedly assaulted by personal support worker in Oakville

A personal support worker in Oakville is facing assault charges.

Halton police began investigating after being contacted by members of the victim’s family.

The victim in this investigation is a youth and the assaults are alleged to have taken place over the past few weeks at the victim’s home while they were in the care of the accused.

Parmjit Kaur Uppal, 45, was arrested on Friday, April 19, and charged with two counts of assault and assault causing bodily harm.

Uppal was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The accused, a personal support worker, was an employee of Paramed Home Health Care. Police believe there may be additional victims.

Investigators are asking anyone with information, or anyone who has been victimized by the accused, to contact the HRPS Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777, ext. 8970.
