One person was killed in a crash in Brampton last week after a minivan crashed through a concrete wall on the highway.

Around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday (April 6), the OPP says a minivan was travelling southbound on Highway 410 near the 407 when it struck an SUV that was also headed southbound.

That’s when police say the drivers of both vehicles lost control and veered towards the Hwy 407 ramp, with the minivan crashing through a concrete wall and rolling over onto the ditch.

Two people were inside the van at the time of the crash and police say the driver, a 23-year-old from Mississauga, was transported to hospital with serious injuries while the passenger in the minivan was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say there were three people inside the SUV but none of the occupants were injured in the crash.
