Hamilton Police is assisting the Ministry of Labour with its investigation into the death of a 64-year-old man in Flamborough, early Tuesday morning.

The Hamilton Police Service says it is assisting the Ministry of Labour with its investigation into the death of a 64-year-old man in Flamborough.

According to police, the victim was struck “within a business” by a transport truck on Tuesday (May 10) in the area of Hwy 8 and Westover Rd.

“Life-saving measures were taken to save the male, however, he was pronounced deceased as a result of the injuries he sustained,” said police.

The ministry deemed the death to be the result of a motor vehicle collision, making it Hamilton’s 12th traffic fatality of 2022 and the 11th involving a pedestrian.

There were four pedestrian deaths in all of 2020, and when you remove the pandemic variable, there were three pedestrian deaths in 2018. Stats for 2021 are not yet available.
